Serenity. All I feel is complete serenity while watching the tiny snowflakes as they escape the clouds, coming to rest all along Paris. This is the first journey they have ever had, yet it is also the last. These tiny flakes show no fear as they envelope the city, changing the ever bustling city into a peaceful moment. While everyone attempts to get indoors from the chill overtaking the city; suddenly a thought crosses my mind. It is as if all this was planned for me, so that I could catch this very moment on canvas.
The lights from the hotel give me a certain warmth I haven't felt for years, despite the chill in the wind overtaking me. I look over my shoulder and catch glimpse of the sun dissipating behind the horizon with the Eiffel Tower transcending everything else. It is as if the tower itself is a silent protector, watching over the denizens of Paris while the night passes on.
I decide to cross the river Seine, along the bridge, and accompany the snowflakes on their final journey. We both have something in common, this will only happen once in a lifetime.
